Germany coach Joachim Loew admitted that his side  tired at the end of their exciting 2-2 draw with Ghana on Saturday.

The European side fell behind 2-1 in the second half before Miroslav Klose equalized to rescue a point for the favourites to continue their hopes of qualifying for the next round.

Speaking to the press after the match, Loew praised his team’s resiliency.

“We conceded two goals out of nothing, but the team showed morale and came back again,” said Loew.

“The players are incredibly exhausted. In the second half, it as an open exchange of blows at a crazy pace and the players gave every last ounce of energy they had.”

Loew also gave an update on Thomas Mueller, who was hit in the face at the end of the match and left the field bloody.

“He suffered a wound to the eyebrow, but it is nothing to worry about.

“Probably the most serious [injury was the muscle problem] that forced Jerome Boateng to be replaced at the interval.

“He could not run. I hope it is not too serious.”
