Juventus have had their first offer for Tottenham Hotspur’s Erik Lamela rejected by the English Premier League side.

The Argentine midfielder is on the transfer wishlist of several clubs this summer and the Bianconeri are hoping to add the former Roma player to their ranks. Lamela moved to Tottenham last summer, but only featured 15 times for the North London club. Tottenham paid around € 30 million euros for the player who fell out of favour following Andre Villa-Boas’ sacking.

Despite this, the Daily Mirror has reported Tottenham have rejected Juventus’ offer as Lamela is currently in the plans of new coach Mauricio Pochettino. It is also rumoured that Roma are interested in bringing Lamela back to the Stadio Olimpico ahead of their return to the Champions League next season. Meanwhile, Napoli and Inter are also interested, though Tottenham’s asking price maybe too high at the moment.

In Lamela’s 15 games last season he tallied one goal and three assists. Due to his injury and club form, Lamela was not selected for this summer’s Argentina World Cup squad as coach Alejandro Sabella was unimpressed with the player’s performance of the last 12 months.
