Morgan Schneiderlin SouthamptonNapoli are interested in Southampton’s French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin as the Partenopei continue to evaluate a number of candidates as they seek to reinforce their midfield.

Azzurri sporting director Riccardo Bignon is believed to have turned his focus towards the 24-year-0ld France international as Napoli’s attempts to sign the likes of Tottenham’s Sandro and Lyon’s Maxime Gonalons appear to have broken down.

According to Il Roma, Napoli see the singing of Schneiderlin as a feasible alternative to Sandro and Gonalons and the Coppa Italia winners feel that the player could be tempted to the Stadio San Paolo by the promise of Champions League football.

It has been reported that Saints would demand a transfer fee of €10 million before allowing the player to leave as they look to prevent an exodus of players following the departure of manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Schneiderlin is currently with the France squad in Brazil as part of their World Cup 2014 squad and was an unused substitute when Les Bleus beat Honduras 3-0.

The former Strasbourg midfielder made 32 starts for Southampton during the 2013-14 Premier League season and he scored two goals.
