Giuseppe Rossi ItalyGiuseppe Rossi was able to come through 70 minutes in a friendly with the Republic of Ireland on Saturday night.

Rossi, who had been out injured since January, was pleased he’d come through the fame unscathed.

‘’I feel for Montolivo and at the time it didn’t look serious,’’ he told Rai Sport.

‘’Obviously we are all sad and no one wants to see a great player like Riccardo have to leave the field.’’

When questioned on his own condition, Pepito responded, ‘’My condition? I’m fine.’’

‘’We were all a little tired from the work done at Coverciano but overall I am satisfied.

‘’But yes, I feel good.

‘’Playing 70 minutes at a high level was important.’’

He added: ‘’There are still two weeks to go so we’ll see.

“As for being too far away from goal I was playing a second striker role which stays in between the midfield and attack and that was my role tonight.

‘’In terms of Immobile and Balotelli they could make a good pairing as Ciro loves to attack the space.

‘’As for a possible partnership with Cassano we will have to wait and see if I make the 23.’’
