Algeria coach Vahid Halilhodzic says there was a lot of quality in his side’s play, despite giving away a lead to lose 2-1 against Belgium.

The Africans went ahead through a Sofiane Feghouli penalty, but conceded two late goals to end their opening game empty handed.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, the Bosnian said rued his side’s fitness saying that it needs to improve, but also said that his side played good quality football.

“We let them play in the second half,” said Halilhodzic. “They were fresh and we committed small errors.

However there was a lot of quality in our play.

“My team [Algeria] gave in as much as they could in the present time, but each Algerian player needs to improve his physical condition by 30 to 50 per cent.”

The Fennec Foxes face South Korea in Porto Alegre on Sunday, and a loss would see the Algerians crash out of the FIFA World Cup.
