New Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri insisted that he gets on well with Andrea Pirlo and there are no problems between the two.

Many believe that it was Allegri’s decision to sell Pirlo when the pair were both at AC Milan in 2011 but the coach said he is looking forward to working with the 35-year-old midfielder again.

“I have an excellent relationship with Andrea [Pirlo], there is no problem,” said Allegri at his unveiling as Juve coach.

“I have never doubted his ability, it would have been a mad thing for me to do.

“I am fortunate to be reunited with him after three years.

“He always played for me, he had some physical problem during the last season with me but he’s a champion and I’ve never questioned this.

“We haven’t spoken to each other but it didn’t seem as though we needed to because I wasn’t the coach of Juventus.”

However, according to Mediaset, Pirlo would still like to be given reassurances from the Bianconeri regarding the club’s direction on the pitch following Antonio Conte’s departure notwithstanding Allegri’s positive comments.

Such doubts have reportedly interested Galatasaray who believe that they can tempt the player to move from the Old Lady and play for former Italy coach Cesare Prandelli despite Pirlo’s reservations about playing in Turkey.
