Former Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar has all but called an end to his international career with Brazil.

The Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper, who is on loan at Toronto FC, played every game for Brazil at this summers World Cup but conceded ten goals in his last two games for the Selecao.

Speaking to A Bola in Brazil, the goalkeeper was upfront about his future with the national team following the crushing disappointment of elimination on home soil.

“It will be difficult to play at the Copa America next summer, I’m not young anymore and I think Brazil has seven or eight players who are quite capable of defending the nation.”

Cesar has had a long history with Brazil, winning 87 caps for the national side between 2004 and 2014, winning the Copa America once and the Confederations Cup twice with the national team.

Cesar spent seven years with Inter, winning the treble in 2010, before moving to QPR in 2012.
