Rodrigo Taddei has expressed his disappointment at how his career has ended with Roma, the club releasing the player at the end of last season.

The 34-year-old veteran was a part of the Giallorossi set up from 2005 to 2014, making over 200 appearances and winning the hearts of numerous Roma fans.

However, the introduction of coach Rudi Garcia seems to have cut short Taddei’s affiliation with the club after he made only 19 appearances last season, most of them from the bench.

“I am disappointed with how things went with Roma,” wrote Taddei on his official Facebook page.

“I did not expect this but if someone does not want you then you put yourself aside.” he continued.

The versatile midfielder, however, expressed his willingness to continue playing at the highest level.

“My agent and I will try a new adventure and of course it will be difficult.”

The player was then asked if he felt betrayed by the Giallorossi.

“Betrayed? No. The president[James Pallotta] tried to make me stay, but perhaps the majority did not want me here and that’s part of football. “
