Genoa striker Alberto Gilardino is reportedly on his way to Chinese club FC Guangzhou Evergrande.
The Italian will be re-united with former Azzurri coach Marcello Lippi with whom he won the World Cup in 2006, and also Alessandro Diamanti, who was his team-mate at Bologna two seasons ago.
Sky Sport Italia reports that the initial bid from Lippi’s team was €4.5 million but the Grifoni demanded €5.5 million and the agreement between the clubs was made halfway at €5 million.
Gilardino will earn €10 million on a two year contract, excluding bonuses.
The 32-year-old striker netted 15 goals in 36 appearances in Serie A last term as Genoa finished 14th.
