Inter have expressed their interest in the Netherlands’ rising attacking midfield star Memphis Depay.

The 20-year-old PSV Eindhoven player has burst on to the scene of world football at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil scoring two goals and notching one assist in four matches.

Depay only started one of the matches he has featured in and has shown an ability to make an impact off the substitutes’ bench.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are hopeful of Depay’s signature and have been tracking the playmaker even before the World Cup began. However, with a strong showing in Brazil, the Dutchman will have numerous suitors in the coming months.

It is also thought that Depay’s original transfer valuation has increased due to his impressive showing.

Last season Depay played 32 times for PSV scoring 12 goals and adding seven assists. The attacking midfielder has already been linked with coach Louis Van Gaal’s future club Manchester United.
