Juventus are closing in on the signing of highly-rated Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata after striking a deal with the Spanish giants, putting an end to months of intense speculation over the player’s future.

The deal is thought to be in region of €18 million, with a buy-back clause that Real Madrid can activate at around €30 million. There are still aspects of the negotiations yet to be finalised but it is believed the 21-year-old will sign a five-year contract with the Italian champions.

“I’m very happy, for me it is a personal challenge,” Morata was quoted as saying by Marca.

The promising forward has found his opportunities at Real Madrid increasingly limited, with Carlo Ancelotti favouring Karim Benzema up front.

Morata still managed to score nine goals in all competitions coming off the bench and has opted for Juventus in his quest for regular first-team football.
