Miroslav Klose brushed aside questions about his own lack of goalscoring to focus on Germany’s efforts to win the World Cup.

Germany defeated France 1-0 on Friday in the quarterfinals of the 2014 World Cup and will face Brazil in the semifinals.

His comments to the press after the match focused on his German teammates work.

“We always believe we have a great team and we always want to show our strength in the field,” Klose said.

Klose remains tied with the Brazilian Ronaldo for most World Cup goals and was asked about sitting on that record after no scoring in this match.

“For me it is only important to win the semi-final and go to the final,” Klose continued.

“This is the most important thing for me.

“Certainly, today when I had the chance, I wanted to score goals.”

When asked about who he would prefer to play in the semifinal, the forward said, “None, they are both equal [to us].”
