New Juventus signing Alvara Morata expressed his strong motive behind joining the reigning Italian Champions from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The U21 Spanish international  joined the Bianconeri for a transfer fee of 20 million that is payable over three years but the reigning Champions League Champions can buy him back for 30m after the 2015/2016 season or 2016/2017 season.

Morata had expressed a strong desire during the transfer market to move to Juventus and during his presentation he gave his reasons for joining the La Vecchia Signora.

Juventus are one of the best clubs in the world, he admitted. Certainly, the best club  in Italy.

I will try to contribute to more victories.  I spoke to Massimiliano Allegri and I have a strong desire to start working under him. I hope to repay him, so hopefully we will have a successful season and can win a lot of trophies this season.

I have always wanted to play in a Juventus jersey. The club has always demonstrated a strong interest in me. The interest between Juventus and I was mutual.

There were offers from England and other countries, but my desire was to come here and play for Juventus. I come with the intention to work very hard. I feel ready for the new season ahead and I know it will be tough but I am ready to face the Serie A.

He also spoke about the players he admires at Juventus and how it will help him grow in his career.

I admire several Juventus players and it will be magnificent to play with them. The presence of other champions at Juventus will stimulate me to grow for the sake of the club.

I have seen so many matches for Juventus and I’ve played against this side. I know all the players.  Of course playing alongside the likes of Carlos Tevez, Arturo Vidal, Andrea Pirlo & Fernando Llorente is wonderful.

Being up against three great strikers is a positive as the competition pushes me to give more for the good of the team.

Morata also gave a reason for choosing the No. 9 jersey while felt special about being one of the only two UEFA Champions League winners in this squad.

What shirt number will I wear? The No. 9. I asked if the No 9 was available. I’m aware of it’s importance and regard it as a challenge.

It is an incredible sensation to be the only one other than Pirlo to have won the Champions League. I  really want to experience that sensation of victory again.

I think we should take it one step at a time in Europe and I know that the team is working hard already.

He eventually concluded by speaking about his former coach Carlo Ancelotti and the advice he gave him prior to joining Juventus.

Ancelotti wished me all the best and he said that I am going to a great city. He said to enjoy Italy and especially the Italian food.

Thanks for the great welcome you have given me. Forza Juve.”
