Livorno have officially accepted the resignation of coach Davide Nicola after the club had been relegated from the Serie A.

The Amaranto made the announcement official on their website on Monday and Livorno president Aldo Spinelli said that Nicola made the right decision.

“I will confirm everything, the coach Nicola has officially filed in his own resignation and us as a club have accepted it,” Spinelli told TuttoMercatoWeb.

“After all, if less of the right motivation had come, it was fair that he said goodbye. Nicola now is officially free to marry elsewhere.”

Livorno are now searching for new coach and Spinelli wants a coach who considers coaching the Amaranto to be a privilege.

“We have on the table a series of interesting proposals. The important thing is that the new coach has heart and the motivation to see things,” said Spinelli.

“To train Livorno, for the new coach, will have to be first of all an honour.”
