Sampdoria are reportedly closing in on a deal with former Inter defender Walter Samuel.
The 36-year-old, who had previously announced that he would be ending his nine-year career with the Nerazzurri this summer, has been linked with a possible move to the Blucerchiati in recent days and it seems a deal could be complete by the end of the week.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Sampdoria have submitted a new offer to the Argentine’s representatives on Thursday and the former Real Madrid man may even make his decision on whether or not he wants to join La Samp in the coming hours.
Reports from Genoa’s edition of La Repubblica also show that the Serie A side’s latest bid will see the defender make €1 million plus bonuses during the 2014-15 season if he decides to accept.
Walter Samuel joined Inter from Real Madrid in 2005 and scored a total of 13 goals in his 172 league appearances for the Biscione until his exit.
