Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari refused to answer questions about his future during the press conference after his side’s 3-0 loss to the Netherlands in the third-place playoff.

It is widely expected that the coach will be relieved of his duties with a meeting with the Brazilian Football Association ready to be held in the next 24 hours.

“My future is not yet decided,” said Scolari to reporters in his post-match comments.

“It’s  the Brazilian Football Confederation who will tell me whether I’ll stay or not.”

“I won’t discuss this with the press today.”

Scolari was also defensive of his side’s performance after they lost 3-0 to the Oranje:

“We did not play badly in my opinion.”

“The game would have been a little more balanced if we had not conceded a goal early on.

“I think the players deserve credit for what they have done.

“This generation does not have to be scarred.

“We were in the top four teams in the World and won the Confederations Cup last year.”
