Roma forward Mattia Destro’s future appears to lie away from the Stadio Olimpico as rumours linking the 23-year-old with a move away from the capital intensify.

The arrival of Argentinian Juan Iturbe has put Destro’s position at the Giallorossi under pressure and his position may no longer be secure in Roma starting eleven.

SportMediaset reports that Destro is no longer untouchable with the striker linked with Inter and Wolfsburg, amid intensifying interest from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

It is understood that Tottenham director Franco Baldini is in negotiations with Roma regarding a transfer for the Italy international.

However, Roma’s assessment of Destro is believed to be high as they value him at around €25 million, which could deter any further bids for the striker who scored 13 goals in 18 appearances last season.

Roma target and Spurs midfielder Sandro could be included in a deal with the Brazilian linked with a move to Serie A for several months.

Destro moved to Roma after a prolific spell at Siena in 2012 and has scored 19 goals in 41 games for the capital outfit.
