Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has stated that his side must continue to improve as a team if they are to challenge for the Scudetto once again this coming season.

Speaking in the aftermath of his sides unconvincing 3-2 victory in an exhibition game against the A-League All-Stars in Sydney, the new coach admits that there is still plenty of work to do.

“Juventus met a team that was very well organised,” he said.

“We suffered some big pressure particularly in the first half where we made some big technical mistakes.

“Overall it was better in the second half but we still need to work quite a lot on the physical side, the legs were getting tired.”

Juventus scored twice late in the game after trailing 2-1, with goals to Paul Pogba and Simone Pepe securing the win.

“The two goals were both from clearances, the first part of the pitch from the goalkeeper to the defenders,” he said.

“Maybe we should improve more as a team rather than the defence, play more as a team and support the construction part of the game.

“We changed something in the in last 15 minutes which made the whole team work better.”

The Bianconeri were forced to come from behind twice against against the home team who held their own against the Italian giants, and Allegri was very forthcoming with his praise for the Australian team.

“The organization was their strength considering they only had 10 days preparation,” he said.

“It was great to have such a warm welcome in Sydney and playing in front of 55,000 people is always a good experience.”
