ConteThe FIGC have confirmed that Antonio Conte will be the new coach of Italy, taking over from Cesare Prandelli.

Conte hit headlines after his rather shocking and abrupt resignation from Juventus in July, but has now sought out pastures anew with the Italian national team.

The official site of the FIGC released a statement confirming that Conte has officially taken over the Azzurri on a two-year deal, until July 31, 2016.

Newly appointed FIGC president Carlo Tavecchio has been in talks with Conte over the last few days, with the 45-year-old said to have accepted a deal worth €3.6 million a year, split between the FIGC and sponsors.

A line of bonuses await the new coach as well, one if he qualifies for the European Championsips, another if he moves Italy up five places in the FIFA rankings, and finally if he reaches the final of Euro 2016.

Conte will be hoping to captivate the magic he mustered during his time at the Old Lady, having won three Scudetti in three years.
