Benat Athletic ClubAthletic Club midfielder Benat believes his side’s 1-1 draw against Napoli was a good result in the first-leg of their Champions League play-off.

The Partenopei failed to make home advantage count at the Stadio San Paolo and although Gonzalo Higuain brought the Italians level with just over 20 minutes remaining, Iker Muniain’s first-half strike ensures Los Leones take a vital away goal back to Spain.

“It is a good result but personally I am happier with the performance than the result,” the 27-year-old told El Correo after the game.

“The game was full of key moments, we should have extended our lead to 2-0 and instead we were stunned by the equaliser in the second-half.”

“Now we must shift our attention to the second-leg. We must approach the return game with the intention to win.”

Napoli travel to Bilbao next Wednesday knowing they must score at least once to avoid elimination from the Champions League, with a victory or a draw greater than 1-1 enough to send the Azzurri through to the group stages.
