Gary Medel is currently en route to Milan to complete his long awaited transfer from Cardiff City to Inter.

Chilean international midfielder Medel has allegedly turned down more lucrative offers from clubs such as Galatasaray in favour of a move to the Nerazzurri, which has been delayed until now because of Medel’s World Cup commitments with Chile and fee negotiations between Cardiff and Inter.

Those negotiations seem to have been successful though, as La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Medel is currently on a flight to Milan, where he will complete a medical and sign a contract before training with his new teammates on Thursday.

The agreement between the Nerazzurri and Cardiff amounts to a fee of about €9 million over a number of seasons with an additional €1m to be paid if Inter reach the Champions League.

Medel’s transfer will cap a busy few days for Inter, as Pablo Osvaldo arrived in Milan on Monday to complete his move on loan from Southampton.
