Chile tactician Jorge Sampaoli revealed some interesting details regarding the transfer situation of Juventus and La Roja icon Arturo Vidal.

The 27 year old Chile midfielder joined the La Vecchia Signora in 2011 from Bayer Leverkusen for a transfer fee of 12.5 million and has since then, gone on to become an integral part of the Bianconeri’s success featuring in over a hundred games and netting close to forty goals.

Sampaoli, who coached Chile at the 2014 World Cup, told El Mercurio that English giants Manchester United are extremely interested in Vidal, but are not completely sure of signing him.

Vidal set a great example at the World Cup in Brazil by playing when he was not in perfect shape,“ said the 54 year old tactician.

After a great World Cup and consistent performances in the past three years for Juventus, Manchester United want him.

But, what’s holding up his move to the English Premier League is that [Louis] Van Gaal has some doubts on the condition of his knee.

The former Leverkusen midfielder, who had been operated one month prior to the beginning of the World Cup, has been dealt with a very cautious approach by the Juventus coaching staff once he returned to Vinovo with the Bianconeri taking his medical check up at regular intervals while letting him train individually.

Vidal has traveled with the Juventus squad for their pre-season tour of the Asia-Pacific region and it remains to be seen if his future remains intact at Turin for the upcoming season.
