Marouane Fellaini Manchester UnitedManchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is set to hold talks with manager Louis van Gaal to discuss his future with Napoli only having until Monday to register him for their UEFA Champions League qualifying tie against Athletic Club.

The 26-year-old is reportedly lured by the project at the Naples outfit under coach Rafael Benitez with his Belgium teammate Dries Mertens also at the club.

Il Mattino reports that the negotiations are ongoing for a season-long loan with the English club demanding €5 million for the duration of the loan, as well as €4m plus bonuses for the player which will be divided with United as they look to recoup some of the €36m they paid for the Belgian international just a year back.

If the deal does not reach fruition however, technical director Riccardo Bigon is working on the transfers of Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva, Tottenham Hotspur’s Sandro and Malaga’s Ignacio Camacho as potential alternatives.
