Argentine attacking midfielder Ricky Alvarez is headed away from Inter to Premier League outfit Sunderland after passing a medical exam on Saturday night.
The 26-year old playmaker arrived at the San Siro three years ago from Buenos Aires club Velez Sarsfield in a deal worth nearly €13 million but found himself on the fringes of coach Walter Mazzarri’s squad with the midfield additions Inter has made this transfer market.
Alvarez will sign a three-year contract with the Black Cats in a deal which will net Inter €11 million, according La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The deal concludes a frustrating period for both player and club as despite his amazing skill and dribbling ability, injuries and dips in form limited the Argentine to score a mere 11 goals over 70 Serie A appearances for the Nerazzurri over his three seasons.
