Juventus have agreed a deal with Brazilian defender Luisao although the Serie A champions are still to agree a fee with Benfica.

The 33-year-old would leave Benfica after 11 seasons at the club, eight of those as club captain, with Bianconeri coach Massimiliano Allegri keen to complete the deal as soon as possible.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Luisao is seen as alternative to 23 year-old Greek defender Kostas Monalos of Olympiakos, who is also attracting interest from Arsenal, and  has agreed a three year deal with a salary of €3m per season.

However, Benfica want a fee in the region of €4m, but Juve are looking to lower this by €1m

Luisao would be the sixth Benfica defender to leave the side that conceded just 18 goals in the Primera Liga last season and won a domestic treble.
