Liverpool Linked With Move For Inter talisman
The 21 year old Argentina, who moved to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in 2013 from Sampdoria for a transfer fee of €12 million, had missed most of the games in the first half of the Serie A last season due to an injury but made a strong return for the Nerazzurri in 2014.
According to a report by Sports Mediaset, Liverpool are very keen to add Icardi to their squad for the upcoming season in order to replace Luis Suarez, who joined Barcelona for a transfer fee close to €90 million.
It has also been suggested that, due to the difficulties present for the Reds to land AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli, they have identified Icardi as a viable option to be a part of their attack but have to negotiate with the Nerazzurri president, Erick Thohir, who has no intentions to sell their talisman striker.
Icardi scored nine goals and provided two assists in his 22 appearances for Inter in the Serie A last season.
