AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has told reporters that Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez is on the verge of moving to Serie A.

Lopez has become surplus to requirements in Madrid following the arrival of Keylor Navas from Levante, and the Rossoneri have moved swiftly to acquire the goalkeeper who started every league game for Real last season.

“For Diego Lopez, its 99% done,” Galliani told La Gazzetta dello Sport, with the 32-year-old Spaniard expected to sign a four year deal in the coming days.

Lopez only arrived at Madrid in January 2013, but quickly took the number one spot form legendary goalkeeper Iker Casillas in the Primera Division.

The Rossoneri will look to sell goalkeeper Michael Agazzi, who only joined the Milanese giants on a free transfer in July, to free up squad space for their new arrival, with Sassuolo believed to be an option for the former Cagliari and Chievo stopper.
