Manchester United are reportedly on the verge of making a formal offer for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.

The 27-year-old Chile international, who moved to the Bianconeri under Antonio Conte in the summer of 2011 for a transfer fee of €12.5 million from German side Bayer Leverkusen, has since then been a fan favorite in Turin.

According to a report in La Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United are about to submit a cheque of 60 million for Vidal and his future at Juventus remains in the balance.

The report suggested that when Juventus return from their preseason tour of Asia and Pacific after August 17, Vidal’s agent Fernando Felicevich, will submit the bid of the Red Devils to the La Vecchia Signora and he will also submit the salary offer of around €8-10 million per year to his client.

However, Juventus have reportedly set a deadline for the former Colo Colo player to express the will and he must now decide quickly if he wants to leave the club.

The report also indicated that if Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta decides to reject this offer made by the English giants in due time, then Vidal will gladly stay at Juventus only if they match the offer he has received from Louis Van Gaal’s side.

The Chilean and his family are reportedly happy in Turin but he is willing to weigh all the options at his disposal.
