Gary Medel has stated that he is ready to be the heir to Inter legend Esteban Cambiasso ahead of a proposed move to the Nerazzurri.
The 27-year-old Chilean is in Milan for a medical ahead of his long-mooted move to the Beneamata from Cardiff City who were relegated from the Premier League last season.
Sky Sport Italia intercepted Medel after landing in Italy and the midfielder revealed his ambitions to match the legacy of Cambiasso, who helped Inter to five Scudetto’s and the 2010 Champions League title in ten years with the club.
“I am delighted to be here,” Medel stated. “I’m ready to be the heir to Cambiasso.”
Medel made 34 appearances for Cardiff last season after making the move from Sevilla.
