Napoli have reignited their interest in Tottenham Hotspur’s Sandro as they look to bolster their midfield.

The 25-year-old had been out injured for the majority of last season in which he made just 10 league starts for the English club and has been heavily linked with a move to Zenit St Petersburg during the past few weeks.

However, Il Tempo reports that the Naples outfit might be favourites to sign the Brazilian incase the Russian club, having slumped to a 1-0 defeat against AEL Limassol in the first leg of their Champions League third round qualifier, fails to reach the group stages of the Europe’s most prestigious tournament.

The north London club are trying to sign Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton while Napoli have continued to monitor the situations of  Manchester United misfit Marouane Fellaini and Liverpool’s defensive midfielder Lucas Leiva.
