Roma seek striking cover in case of Destro departure

Shakhtar Donetsk’s Luiz Adriano and Porto’s Jackson Martinez have been linked with Roma in case of the potential sale of striker Mattia Destro.

Sporting director Walter Sabatini is reportedly seeking a replacement should the Italian depart the Olimpico, with a move to the Premier League well on the cards.

According to Il Messaggero, the Lupi director prefers Martinez and would launch a bid for the Colombia international if they decide to accept a substantial offer for the former Genoa and Siena forward.

Destro has struck 19 goals in 41 Serie A appearances for the capital outfit, and is strongly linked with a move to London, with either Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur speculated as a potential destination.
