Sampdoria close in on Roma defender Romagnoli

Sampdoria are expected to finalize the loan signing of young Roma defender Alessio Romagnoli in the coming days.

Doria have been in the market for a defender after the sale of Shkodran Mustafi to Valencia a couple of weeks ago, and look to have settled on the Roma youngster.

Sport Italia reveal that Roma have given the all-clear for Romagnoli to make the temporary switch to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris for the upcoming season.

The Blucerchiati are expected to finalize the transfer within the next 48 hours so that the youngster will be available for the start of the new season.

Sampdoria targeted Romagnoli after they pulled out of the race to sign River Plate defender and Colombian international Eder Balanta.
