Valencia complete signing of Sampdoria’s World Cup winner

Valencia have announced the signing of defender Shkodran Mustafi from Sampdoria.

The 22 year old versatile defender, who moved to the Blucerchiati in 2012 from English side Everton on a free transfer, was a part of the German team that won the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Valencia confirmed on their official website that they had bought Mustafi on a permanent transfer without disclosing the fee involved for him but giving the details of the signed contract between the the player and the club.

Mustafi signs for Valencia CF as the German World Cup winning centre back signs on a five-year contract,“ read a statement on the club’s official website.

Valencia CF have reached an agreement with UC Sampdoria for the transfer of German international center back, Shkodran Mustafi.

The player, who signed his contract on Wednesday, becomes a Valencia player until June 30th, 2019. Mustafi, 22 years-old and a World Cup winner at Brazil 2014, will undergo a medical at 9:45 am. on Thursday [August 7] at the Ciudad Deportiva courtesy of Divina Pastora.

He will then pose for photos, before being presented to the media at the Paterna training facilities at 10 am.

Mustafi was very impressive for Sampdoria in the Serie A last season recording 33 appearances and also netting a goal for the Ligurian club.
