Roma midfielder Alessandro Florenzi is set put pen to paper on a new deal extending his stay with the Giallorossi.

The 23-year-old’s existing contract was to expire in June 2016.

According to Il Tempo the new contract would reportedly see his current annual wages of €700,000 doubled in order to secure the future of one of Roma’s brightest stars and deter interest from rival clubs.

AC Milan, Fiorentina and two undisclosed foreign clubs were believed to have shown interest in the Italian international.

The versatile midfielder has scored nine Serie A goals in over 70 league matches.
