Colantuono: Young players are Atalanta’s secret weapon

Atalanta’s coach Stefano Colantuono praised the young players in his team after Sunday’s 2-1 away win at Cagliari.

Marcelo Estigarribia opened the scoring shortly after kick-off before 21-year old Richmond Boakye doubled the Orobici’s advantage midway through the second half before Andrea Cossu got one back for the Rossoblu from the penalty spot late on.

“The young players are one of the team’s secrets, and today we played with character,” Colantuono told Rai Sport.

“Cagliari deserved a point today. This match with Cagliari will be critical this season and right now we’re in front.”

Colantuono also touched on his future at Atalanta.

“Now I am in Bergamo,” he said.”If [Atalanta president Antonio] Percassi extends my contract, then I’ll stay here. I want to end my career with Atalanta.”
