Juventus legend David Trezeguet believes his old club remain favourites for the title this season but will face stiff competition from their Serie A rivals as they look to pick up their fourth Scudetto in a row.

The former France international won back to back titles with The Old Lady between 2001 and 2003 and is confident that the current squad have what it takes to dominate Italian football even further by racking up another Championship.

Trezeguet was in Florence with his current side FC Pune City of India who have recently announced a partnership with Fiorentina.

Speaking to the official Fiorentina website he said, “Milan have remade their team. Roma, Napoli and Fiorentina have very interesting sides but who will win the title? The favourites are still Juventus.”

At 36 the former Serie A player of the year and Capocannoniere winner is likely to finish his career in the newly formed Indian Super League.

While his Italian top flight playing days are behind him it’s clear he still retains a fondness for the league where he truly left his mark as one of the Bianconeri’s modern greats. “It will be a beautiful season, a lot of fun,” he said.
