Florenzi – Roma

Roma midfielder Alessandro Florenzi is expected to start for Italy away against Norway in the Azzurri’s opening fixture in the qualifying campaign for the 2016 European Championships on September 9.

The team is expected to be similar to that which beat the Netherlands 2-0 in the friendly in Bari as Italy look to get off to a positive start in coach Antonio Conte’s first competitive game  at the helm.

Florenzi is expected to come in for the suspended Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio in the centre of midfield and Gianluigi Buffon is ready to replace Salvatore Sirigu in goal, according to Tuttomercatoweb.com.

The 23-year-old Roma player will reportedly be tasked with linking the midfield to the attack in a similar style to how Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal did at Juventus under Conte.

Florenzi made 37 appearances for Roma during the 2013-14 Serie A season and scored six times for the Giallorossi.

The forward duo of Simone Zaza and and Ciro Immobile is also expected to remain unchanged  for the game against the Norwegians following their impressive showing against the Dutch.
