Torino midfielder Alessandro Gazzi will reportedly sign a contract renewal with the Granata that will see him remain at the club until 2016.

The 31-year-old had been expected to make his exit from the Turin side over the summer based on the fact that his current deal is set to expire at the end of the 2014-15 season, but it seems he may now have more time to decide his future.

According to Tuttosport, Torino president Urbano Cairo has come to an agreement with the midfielder and his representatives and is willing to offer the Italian an contract extension that will last until June 2016.

Gazzi joined the Toro from Siena for a fee of around €2.5 million in 2012 and has scored a total of two goals in his 46 Serie A appearances for the club since his arrival, providing one assist in his 11 league appearances last term.

The midfielder also played the full 90 minutes during his team’s season opening goalless draw against Inter on August 31.
