Lazio defender Sanitago Gentiletti has revealed that he will be unable to play for at least six months after picking up a knee injury on September 21.
The 29-year-old injured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the Biancocelesti’s recent 1-0 loss to Genoa and is expected to be sidelined for most of the season, though he admits that he’s trying his best to remain positive.
Gentiletti spoke to ESPN Radio about the bad timing of his injury and his upcoming absence from the Lazio line up.
“I’ll be out for about six months,” said the Argentine, who just arrived at the capital city club from San Lorenzo over the summer.
“In ten years of my professional career I’ve never had a serious injury, but as bad luck would have it, this happens as soon as I was able to return to European football. Now I can only look forward to my return.”
