Emanuele Giaccherini spoke about his comeback with the Italy side and admitted he is happy to stay at Sunderland.

Former Juventus midfielder was back in the Azzurri set up after missing out on the World Cup, playing in Antonio Conte’s debut as Italy coach in the 2-0 friendly win over the Netherlands on Thursday.

“I’ve found the same Conte I left at Juventus,” the 29-year old told Tuttosport. “He always said good things about me and I hope to repay the trust that he has placed in me.”

Despite the fact Giaccherini struggled for playing time at Sunderland, he insisted he has no regrets in moving to the Premier League.

“I did get calls from Serie A clubs during this transfer window. Serie A is a great league, but I have a contract with Sunderland running through until 2017 and I’m happy here.”
