AC Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi was happy with the Rossoneri’s performance despite falling to defeat against Juventus despite leaving the field in anger at the end of the match.

The Rossoneri were defeated 1-0 at the San Siro on Saturday night courtesy of a lone goal from Carlos Tevez, but the former striker said that he is happy with how his side performed.

“I left the field feeling very angry,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “We wanted a result against one of the best sides in Europe.

“We even reacted really well after conceding the goal.

“However, we have to focus for the game against Empoli. Sunday after Sunday we can close the gap on Juventus.

“[Jeremy] Menez played really well and gave so much to the side even if he wasn’t at his best.

“Fair play to Juventus too, they are a great side. ”

Inzaghi then went on to praise his defenders in addition to speaking about his side’s upcoming games.

“We work all week,” he said. “Tonight both [Cristian] Zapata and [Adil] Rami managed to nullify [Fernando] Llorente and Tevez.

“The Spaniard saw little of the ball, while Tevez only scored the goal.

“This game should not affect us at all, and if we maintain this spirit I am sure that we can go a long way.”
