Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini will not be available for the Azzurri during their Euro 2016 qualifier against Norway on Tuesday due to a calf strain.
The Juventus defender was on the bench during Italy’s 2-0 win against the Netherlands in a friendly this past Thursday.
Tuttomercatoweb reports that Chiellini underwent a scan to determine his condition and it appears that the scan showed no signs of improvement.
As a result Chiellini will not feature in Oslo, though he will remain in the Azzurri camp after an agreement was reached between the national side and the Bianconeri medical staff.
The 30-year-old, who has made over 70 caps for Italy, will likely be replaced by Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia in the starting lineup.
