Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri expressed his happiness at his side’s performance against AC Milan on Saturday night.

The Bianconeri defeated Milan 1-0 at the San Siro courtesy of Carlos Tevez’s lone goal, and Allegri was quick to praise the way his side set out.

“We had our fair share of the ball and were close to scoring on several occasions,” Allegri told Sky Sport Italia.

“Tonight we got into the game really well; however, there is still a long way to go.

“There is always room for improvement, but the boys were really good tonight.”

Allegri then went on to describe his feeling at returning to the San Siro, having coached Milan for three and a half years between 2011 and 2014.

“I would be a hypocrite if I say that it was a normal game,” he said. “However, I now work at Juventus.

“It wasn’t revenge, I won one Serie A title and the Supercoppa Italiana in my time there and I still have some ties with the place.

“However, I have to think about Juventus.”

The former Cagliari coach then went on to explain his tactics for the game, whilst also saying that Paul Pogba is yet to show his full potential.

“I knew [Nigel] De Jong would mark Tevez,” he said. “Therefore I told [Roberto] Pereyra to fill in the void left by Tevez.

“This allowed us to outnumber Milan and that’s how we got the goal.

“[Paul] Pogba? I get very angry with him because he can do a lot more and is yet to show his full potential.

“He still needs to grow but has some outstanding ability for someone who is 21-years-old.”
