Juventus are planning on making a move for Manchester United forward Juan Mata, if they qualify from the Champions League group stage.

The 26-year-old Spanish international’s future is in some doubt following some lacklustre opening season displays and the club’s acquisition of Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao.

The Mirror report that Juventus will make a move for Mata only if they qualify from the Champions League group stage.

Qualification will mean extra revenue in the Bianconeri’s coffers, and would fund a suitable offer for the talented forward.

Mata has so far struggled to assert himself in new boss Louis van Gaal’s innovative 3-5-2 system.
