Juventus resisted an attempt by Galatasaray to sign their Uruguayan defender Martin Caceres.

The Turkish giants wanted to add the versatile stopper to their squad before the summer transfer window closed.

Turkish website Sporx.com reported that newly appointed coach Cesare Prandelli requested the player but the Bianconeri categorically refused to let the player leave.

Juventus were reluctant to let the player depart as a result of the injury concerns to Andrea Barzagli and the fact that Angelo Ogbonna has not truly impressed since his move from Torino in 2013.

Prandelli did manage to land some Serie A stars though when he signed Napoli pair Goran Pandev and Blerim Dzemaili for his new club.
