Italian Champions Juventus are reportedly interested in centre back Luisao of Benfica and AC Milan’s right back Ignazio Abate.

Having won their first five Serie A games, the Bianconeri are looking strong enough to pursue a fourth consecutive league title and progress as far as possible in the Champions League, though have prioritised strengthening their defence over the course of the season.

Mediaset understands that the club are looking to pay around 3 million during the January transfer window for Luisao, provided the Portuguese side do not qualify for the Champions League knockout phase.

Also in the mix is Milan defender Abate, whose contract is expiring in the summer of 2015 and if talks do not go as planned with the Rossoneri board the Turin based club are likely to step in.

Another factor to be considered is Juventus full back Stephan Lichsteiner’s contract which also expires in the summer of 2015.
