Antonio Candreva has renewed his contract with Lazio and has insisted he never thought about leaving the club.
The Italian international had been linked with clubs such as Juventus and Atletico Madrid, but has opted to commit his future to the Biancocelesti.
“I’m very satisfied. When I think back to two-and-a-half years ago, I never thought I would get to this point.” Candreva told Lazio Style Radio.
“I thank the president for keeping his word, despite the many rumours that there were. I seemed I had bought houses in every city!”
“I said in my first press conference that I wanted to become a symbol of this club. I never thought about leaving Lazio.”
Candreva made 37 Serie A appearances for the capital club last season, scoring 12 goals and assisting six.
