Premier League side Liverpool are set to be preparing a bid for Napoli stiker Gonzalo Higuain.
The Argentine has so far failed to hit the net in Serie A this season and had a penalty saved against Chievo in week two in his sides 1-0 home defeat but did manage to score in Napoli’s Champions League play-off round tie away to Athletic Club and Europa League Group 9 game versus Sparta Prague at the San Paolo.
According to the Daily Express, the Merseysiders are set to offer €40 million for the 26-year-old, a figure it’s said Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis would find very difficult to turn down.
It’s known Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is still on the look out for another forward after losing Luis Suarez to Barcelona in the summer and Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is also another potential target.
