After an opening night victory against CSKA Moscow, Rudi Garcia will take his Roma side to face Manchester City tonight hoping to make it two wins out of two in the Champions League.

The Giallorossi were outstanding in their last European outing, thrashing the Russian champions 5-1 at the Stadio Olympico . However, they will undoubtedly face a far sterner test tonight in Manchester.

Garcia’s task is not helped by the enforced absences of midfield masters Daniele De Rossi and Kevin Strootman through injury. Radja Nainggolan and Seydou Keita will take their places while up front Alessandro Florenzi will get the nod ahead of Juan Iturbe who is struggling for fitness.

At the back Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Kostas Manolas will form the central defensive partnership ahead of Morgan De Sanctis.

Manuel Pellegrini is expected to reconfigure his back line as Man City are wary of the speed with which Roma attack. Gaël Clichy will start ahead of Aleksandar Kolarov while Martín Demichelis’s experience will see him picked ahead of new signing Eliaquim Mangala.

In attack Edin Džeko will lead the line supported by James Milner, David Silva and Sergio Agüero.

Expected Starting XIs

Manchester City (4-2-3-1) – Hart; Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy; Fernandinho, Yaya Touré; Milner, Silva, Aguero; Dzeko.

Roma (4-3-3) – De Sanctis; Maicon, Manolas, Yanga-Mbiwa, Cole; Pjanic, Keita, Nainggolan; Florenzi, Totti, Gervinho
