The Gialloblu currently sit in third place after dispatching Torino on Sunday and prepare to host Genoa on Wednesday night.
“It wasn’t a great night for either team but we were both lucky and good enough to turn the match around in our favor,” Mandorlini said in a post-match interview with Mediaset Premium.
Torino normally play very well at the Stadio Olimpico, only losing four Serie A matches at their home ground last season.
“We are happy to pick up the victory in such a difficult stadium,” Mandorlini added.
24-year old Moldovan midfielder Artur Ionita scored the match winner, netting his first Serie A goal moments after coming on as a substitute.
“[Ionita] is a versatile player who can play all the different midfield positions. I see how he trains and he’s a fantastic player with tremendous quality.”
